Want to know what is under the bonnet of your KV6 2.5 Petrol Freelander? Below is the LHD view, however there is little difference between this and the RHD version.
1 Power steering reservoir
2 Cooling system expansion tank filler cap
3 Brake/Clutch fluid reservoir cap
4 Engine Control Module box
5 Engine compartment fusebox
6 Battery
7 Engine oil filler cap
8 Engine oil dipstick
9 Windscreen washer reservoir filler cap
Hi I am trying to change two of the coil packs but can’t figure out how to get to all of them and what they look like any help will be appreciated
Hi BArry,
The coil packs for the V6 are situated in different positions depending on the year of your Freelander. Pre 2003 the front bank coils are mounted on the inlet manifold plenum and the rear bank ones on the cylinder Head. From 2003 all the coils are mounted on the cylinder heads.
The coils are number 2 on the diagram at https://www.parts.com/media/images/oe/collision/7/7115260.gif.
All the best,
Sue
Hi, where do i find the air filter box on my V6 to change the filter?
Hi Andy,
The air filter is under the top cover. Remove the cover the turn it upside down, you will find it there.
All the best,
Sue

why does my 2005 freelander 2.5 doesn’t go into drive when i start it in the morning.
Hi Mustafa,
This sounds as though it could be a problem with one or more of the solenoids in the gearbox.
All the best,
Sue
