If you are getting some engine movement, or a rattle from your Freelander engine, it’s worth checking the lower tie rod assembly – these can be prone to wear.

Hi there Sue, I have a 2002 td4 freelander 1 and have suspicions the large slap/bang that is occurring when the front passenger wheel goes over the centre of a speed ramp may be engine mount related. It certainly sounds and feels like the engine or gearbox (something very heavy) is lifting and slapping back down. There is no noise if I go over the ramp centrally or if I go over with the drivers wheel on the highest bit of the ramp. Just passenger side wheel. Could this be the lower tie mount and if so, is there much difference between genuine part and aftermarket?
Cheers
Emma

During kick down, (hard acceleration) there is a gringing noise from the front that last for few seconds. What is it?
Braking: feels like ABS is coming on 10 times per second, got to pump brake slightly for brake to work ?
